The pattern looks like the inside of a tree to me, so I knew I wanted to incorporate a natural, woodsy element in the room. But, the gold immediately made me think "glamour." Hmmm, woodsy glam dining room? Could it work?
I've been drawn to the look of dark, lacquered walls lately. The seem to embody an edgy, sophisticated elegance. Here are a couple of shots of designer Todd Alexander Romano's New York studio:
Aren't those walls cool? Actually I'm impressed with the whole space. That is a STUDIO apartment?!?!?
Here's my Woodsy Glam Dining Room with blue lacquered walls:

The chairs I chose didn't show up on my mood board. But they are these classic Louis chairs from Ballard Designs:

Hi, Suzy!! Thanks so much for playing along again. Wow, we both picked the same dishes and are rooms are totally different! AWESOME! Love the idea of navy walls, and laquer? So cool! The glam mixed with the woodsy is really a beautiful combo. That slab table is phenomenal and I love the Dash and Albert rug. That forest pendant lamp is crazy!! You've got some good sources here, I've got to start expanding my horizons! Thanks again, I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with tomorrow:)
You rocked it girl! Woodsy glam dining room - what a great concept. And your inspiration photos are really awesome - that's a studio??!! I really love the pendant lighting and the table as well - very cool. Great job Suzy. We need to start a design board discussion on how everyone puts theirs together - I love the color that you incorporated too but I never know how to set a color to my background. Anyway, great work - looking forward to checking out more of the boards.
Fabulous, love the dark navy walls and the sophistication of your choices! I agree with Sarah that you have shared some great new resources and chosen amazing elements for your DR. Great job!

So much awesome stuff in this room! I love that chandelier, it's insane (in a great way!) I love seeing how different all of our rooms are. I think I could move right in to your's for some turkey dinner ;)
LOOOOOOVE it! i am so digging those plates and have been coveting them, but have no money for nor need for them! :)
I love all of the textures that go so well off of those plates. And the shape of each piece is so interesting but still refined and subtle -- love it!
Fantastic board Suzy! I love that you chose a Cozamia piece and love all the accessories - candlestands, the tray. Definitely very glamorous.
What a gorgeous mood board! I'm having a hard time choosing a favorite item, but I think I'm between the chandelier and the mirror. Or maybe the wallpaper....
So, so, sophisticated. That table is amazing too.
I'm loving your woodsy dining room! That table is amazing and I live the gold you've worked in around the accessories. It's just a perfect room for the china that you picked.
Gorgeous~ Love the intensity of the navy opposing the sparkle of metallic! That is a space I would love to dine in!
