Target....who knew?

I have a Target shopping problem.  I go in for laundry detergent and walk out with a cart full of stuff.

Can you relate?

I was browsing the Target website because they are having a sale on decor this week, buy one, get one 50% off.  I was surprised at the cute upholstered chairs they have.  I'm looking for a set of chairs for my living room and I would gladly take any of these:

These velvet chairs are $139, but the second one would only be $70.

I like the pattern on this one.

Hello ikat.  Want to come home with me?

This tufting is pretty too.

Settees are popular right now.  I could even see this being used at a dining table or as a banquet.

Would you buy a chair from Target?  I'm a little wary to buy a chair without sitting on it.  Due to the price, I'm not expecting the highest quality; but at this point in my life, with three little kids, it doesn't make sense to me to spend a lot on furniture.

I'm considering two of the gray velvet chairs to flank a side table, but I really love that ikat chair too.  Decisions, decisions!

Ha! Now we don't even have to go to the store or online with you posting the deals!! This is dangerous! Thanks! :)

I would buy a chair from Target but would definitely try it out first. With little kids you do not want anything pricier and the price is great and these are certainly stylish!

I know what you mean, I have the same problem! I haven't bought furniture from there, but I have some friends who have and its pretty good condition for the $. I say go for it! I love that ikat one as well, and that tufted one is wonderful!

I always have an idea of what I will spend in Target and I think I surpass that amount by 20% at least...EVERYTIME!
Never bought furniture to sit on, but we did buy a shelf and I am impressed at how sturdy it feels.

I love that cartoon - too funny!!! LOL
I have bought furniture from Tarjay before....can't say it is the finest piece of furniture I ever bought, but it was cheap! I was thinking about getting some end chairs for my table there. Comparable to Ikea in the furniture department I think.

Suzy - Not only would I buy from Target but if you have the Target Debit card (which is free b/c it comes out of your own checking account) you get 5% off and FREE SHIPPING always. I have a bench/trunk from them in our bathroom that is faux leather.. I love it.

I've seen Sabrina Soto on HGTV buy tons of Target furniture. I dont know if that means it lasts, but I will say our dining room chairs (unupholstered) are from Target, they are 6 years old and still look great.

I call Target the 100 dollar store because a trip for the most mundane thing always results in close to $100 at the checkout.

I've been eyeing some of those chairs for a while but worried that they wouldn't hold up to base-jumping toddlers and kindergartners. If you take the plunge, let us know how they hold up.

I don't know if I would. Maybe for a room that wasn't used often.

Yes the evil Target eye that sucks you in and makes you spend all your money! I love those chairs and the settee, all great choices. I say buy them, really who knows if we will even like IKAT in 5 to 7 years. ;) Well that's my philosophy anyways, I like change too much to spend good money on furniture.

That's a hard one! I've heard the quality is actually pretty good, but you never know...Those are some gorgeous chairs, and I would be totally sucked in!

In my opinion I would go with the solid chairs - you'll be able to float them around to different areas of the house in the future if you want (much easier than the print). If you lived closer you could come test out my chairs. Ours have held up well and are a good buy for the price (and easy to put together too). We get a ton of compliments on them and people are always so surprised when I say I got them at Target.

I have bought furniture at Target four times, and four times I have returned it. The most recent was this weekend, when I bought a large ottoman, and when I pulled it out of the car, the frame was cracked and the staples pulled out of the upholstery along one side. Never again. But yes, they do have some cute trendy stuff :-)

Don't worry, I bought a bunch of other other home decor stuff to make up for it.
